Our bespoke Fire Party fire training course is designed for staff who have been appointed as a member of the company Fire Party and are expected to investigate a possible fire prior to a full evacuation. Course assumes a basic level of fire training has been received.

On completion of this course, delegates will have the knowledge and confidence to safely investigate a possible fire in their workplace.

  • Fire legislation (including Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005)
  • Fire Party roles and responsibilities
  • Chemistry of fire and how fire and smoke spreads
  • Common causes of fire
  • Hazard spotting / reduction
  • Fire safety features within buildings
  • Awareness of “signs of fire”
  • Understanding the fire alarm system (triggers and stages of operation)
  • Safely investigating a possible fire
  • High risk areas including ceiling / floor, plant rooms and high voltage areas
  • Action on discovering a fire
  • Calling the Fire Service
  • Fire Notices / signs
  • Evacuation procedures
  • Liaising with Fire Controllers / Fire Service
  • Site tour including fire check demonstration
  • Fire extinguishers: Practice and theory

Fire Party Training Outcome

Appointed members of the Fire Party will understand their role and responsibilities and will be in a position where they can confidence investigate a potential workplace fire. Delegates will receive the necessary fire extinguisher training to be able to fufil their role.
