Lithium-ion Battery Fire Awareness
Lithium-ion Battery Fires have gained a lot of traction in the media in recent months. Although Lithium-ion Batteries are on the whole a safe product, when the batteries become compromised and enter into thermal runaway the results can be terrifying.
Our Lithium-ion Battery Fire Awareness course can be delivered online or in person.
The course is designed to give people a better understanding L-ion batteries and identify the signs of a damaged battery and how to best react in the event of a fire involving lithium batteries.
Who should attend?
The course is suitable for any employee who may in their role come into contact with lithium-ion batteries. In particular those who may be involved in the maintenance, distribution/collection and recycling of devices containing these batteries.

2 – 2.5 hours.

- Thermal runway; causes, risks and prevention
- Safe storage and preventative measures
- Emergency response actions
- Firefighting equipment; old v new
- Electrical Vehicle considerations
Do delegates need to pass a test?
No, the course is designed to raise awareness. An end of course test maybe included but this is to ensure delegates have understood the content rather than needing to achieve a pass mark.
Will delegates receive a certificate?
Staff will receive a certificate of attendance.
