Fire Extinguisher Training on BBC Breakfast
On the 11th March 2008, The Times newspaper ran an article about fire extinguishers being banned by the Dorset Fire Service from two blocks of residential flats in Bournemouth.
This followed a report from the building's fire risk assessors who, upon completing their fire risk assessment, said that extinguishers could cause a hazard unless residents were properly trained. Residents described the ban as ridiculous.
The BBC picked up the story and asked UK Fire Training to participate in a feature to run the following day. We provided a trainer to discuss the subject and demonstrate the importance of having good fire extinguisher training.
The feature appeared at regular intervals on BBC Breakfast News on Wednesday the 12th March. The feature can be seen below.
Our Fire Training Courses
The BBC's feature demonstrates just how important fire safety training is to any type of building, whether residential or a workplace. At UK Fire Training, we run various different fire training courses to ensure that buildings have fire safety procedures in place and that people know what to do in the event of a fire.
Our fire safety training can include practical demonstrations of how to use fire extinguishers and we can arrange for fire drills to take place, enabling people to put their fire evacuation plans to the test.
